The war for talent never really ended in Waterloo, though it was reduced to minor skirmishes at the height of the recession. The estimated 2000+ openings in the region testify to both the size of that yawning chasm and the difficulty even globally branded companies have in crossing it. Events like TechVibes work to span that gap by helping companies reach out.

Working in Waterloo Region’s favour is a growing awareness among the press that the area offers gobs of opportunity — as well as safety, good schools and quietude, with big-city amenities and cross-border shopping nearby.

Communitech is the hub for the commercialization of innovation, creating economic prosperity by removing barriers to the creation and growth of tech companies. Our goal is to create more successful global tech businesses for Canada.
