It’s not often that I’ll chuck a single sentence on the Communitech blog, but this post on the Harvard Business Review by recent Tech Leadership Conference speaker Clayton Christensen warrants it.

People who are driven to excel have this unconscious propensity to underinvest in their families and overinvest in their careers—even though intimate and loving relationships with their families are the most powerful and enduring source of happiness

Clayton Christensen

Tech Leadership Conference keynote speaker Clayton Christensen wrote the book on disruptive technology, literally.

His Innovator’s Dilemma and follow-on works cast an enormous shadow over strategic and business-model decisions for companies across the globe.

A Harvard Business Professor, Christensen is also a venture capitalist, founded a non-profit think tank in India and devotes time to his local Massachusetts community.

Almost 15 years have passed since the Innovator’s Dilemma became a bestseller. Do we still define innovation the same way? Do you?
